Watch Oiling

You would think that selecting a watch oil would be simple. Amazingly though, the greatest controversies in the world of horlogoy rage over which watch oils to use.

Once you do select an oil (or several as the case may be), the trick then is to put the right amount in the right places. The general rule is to go easy. Too much oil wanders to places where it doesn't belong (as well as away from where it does belong).

Moebius

Moebius is a Swiss company that makes highly regarded watch oils. Fast moving pivots need light oils. Points that move slowly under stress need heavier oils. It has been said that if a watch is clean, any oil is greatly beneficial. 9010 is the standard general purpose oil. With that and 941 for pallets, you would do fine.
