Straps and Cases
October 13, 2013
These are small, but vital items -- at least if you want to use and
protect your camera gear.
1D grip strap
I dig some searching and dug around on the B and H website, then finally asked
for advice on the FM forums:
I ended up ordering the Canon E1 strap (used) from B and H. This item is apparently
now discontinued, being replaced by a crazy expensive E2 strap, which also connects
to the tripod socket (as do others). Cowboy studios is selling an E1 clone.
The guy who recommended it says he likes it better than the original.
The "Camdapter" is well liked, but you have to buy two pieces. The strap itself, and a fairly expensive
metal piece that screws into the tripod socket. B and H has these.
Camdapter
Another recommendation is the Markins strap (full leather, $59).
Pelican 1510 case
This is a bulletproof hard case that is well regarded.
