Geology Books

This is an impromptu list with some comments, thrown together because I have a stack of books and they are due at the library. These are my notes in case I want to go back and get them when I have time for them.

Continent Revealed, The European Geotraverse. QE 633 A1 C66 1992
I got this while looking for books on the geology of Europe. It is an interesting, unique, and resonably compact book summarizing results from what I think is/was a geophysical traverse of Europe without getting lost in the details and data.

Geology of Western Europe, M.G. Rutten (Netherlands) QE 260 R8 1969
500 pages. Worth the study for descriptive information, though it predates the plate tectonic revolution.

Geology of the European Countries: Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden QE 260 G46 1980
A collection from various authors. Worth getting again when I want to focus on Scandinavia

Global Tectonics P. Kearey and F.J. Vine (England) QE 511.4 K43 1996
Yet another plate tectonics textbook. Will it add to Moores and Twiss?

Plate Tectonics A. N. Strahler (USA) QE 511.4 S74 1998
As the above, yet another plate tectonics textbook. A fat one too. Will it add to Moores and Twiss?

The Geology of Europe D. V. Ager (England) QE 260 A37 1980
I particularly like this man's writing style and am eager to get this book again.
An English stratigrapher, well travelled, somewhat skeptical of plate tectonics.

Parks and Plates R. J. Lillie (Oregon State Univ.) QE 511.4 L55 2005
A fascinating book that I definitely want to get again.
