Intel Galileo - Gen 2 - Differences

• 6 pin serial rather than 3.4 mm jack
• serial at 3.3 volt levels rather than +-12 volts
• 7-15 volt power rather than 5 volt regulated
• can be powered from a shield, via the VIN pin on the Arduino shield header. Input voltage must be in the range 7-15VDC.
• 12 bit PWM
• supports 12 volt POE capable (needs optional module)
• The Galileo Gen 2 uses a Texas Instruments ADC108S102 ADC (10 bit), which allows for a 4x increase in ADC sampling speed.
• 12 of the 20 Arduino shield pins are connected directly to the Quark X1000 SoC to allow significantly faster GPIO performance on those pins.
• Galileo Gen 2 employs an NXP PCA9685 PWM driver IC with 12-bit resolution, allowing for more fine-grained control on the PWM duty cycle.
• The USB Host port connector now has a full-size Type-A receptacle.
• Board is longer (now 124mm)
