The TV B Gone
The idea here is a device that acts like a universal remote of sorts.
But with extended range and power, and it broadcasts all know power off codes
to any sets that might receive it's transmissions.
The original unit is/was based on an ATTINY 85 and is powered by a pair of AA cells.
The Adafruit kit uses two narrow beam IR LEDs and two wide beam LEDs.
I would think of using a single 18650 and some other controller (perhaps a "blue pill").
Android TV Kill
Once upon a time, Android phones had IR transmitters (my Samsung S4 has one) with the idea that they could be
used as a universal remote. This led to a TV killer app being produced. It would seem less attention grabbing
to be using your phone and suddenly TV's would be getting turned off than to be brandishing a TV B Gone device.
