My computer hardware
This is entirely out of date, but here it is.
These are some notes for my own reference, since I am always forgetting details
about the hardware I use, and this avoids having to open the case or look at the
files containing boot messages.
My home machine (trona)
- Running Fedora 17 64 bit
- Asus M2N-E (not SLI) with Bios rev 0802 2/14/2007
- AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ at 2.5 Ghz
- 4 memory slots, all filled - 8G total
- One SATA drive, 500G, 7200 RPM, 3G/s, 16M buffer Seagate ST3500630AS
- One SATA DVD drive, Toshiba Samsung SH-224 (August, 2012)
- 6 SATA 3G/s ports (2 in use)
- One parallel IDE, no longer in use.
- Gigabit network on the motherboard.
- Graphics via fanless "zotac" GT520 w/ 1G of DDR3 ram
My home photoshop machine (gila)
- Running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit
- Asus P8Z68-V Pro Gen3 with Bios 3202 2/17/2012
- Intel i5-2500K at 3.3 Ghz
- 16G of RAM
- One Seagate SATA ST32000641AS drive, 2000G, 7200rpm, 6G/s, 64M buffer.
- One Asus SATA DVD drive DRW-24B1ST
- Gigabit network on the motherboard
- Graphics via GPU in the i5 processor.
My work machine (cholla)
- Running Fedora 17 64 bit
- Asus A8N-E with Bios 1013 04/07/2006
- AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ at 2.0 Ghz
- 4G of RAM
- 3 drives (200G, 300G, and 1500G)
